Jorgensen impressed last season in LaLiga as he made 36 appearances for Villarreal.

He kept six clean sheets and made 143 saves as well as managing a save percentage of just under 70 per cent.

The 22-year-old had joined Villarreal side seven years ago after spending time in the academy of Swedish sides GIF Nike and Malmo as well as Spanish teams Santa Catalina and Penya Arrabal and Mallorca.

After completing his switch to Chelsea, Jorgensen admitted the move is a "dream come true".

He said: "This move is a dream come true.

"I am very excited to have signed for Chelsea, one of the biggest clubs in the world.

"I can’t wait to get to know everyone and to start playing with all my new teammates."

The goalkeeper becomes the Blues' sixth signing this summer as he follows Marc Guiu, Caleb Wiley, Renato Veiga, Omari Kellyman and Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall through the door at Stamford Bridge.

Enzo Maresca's side are currently in the US for their pre-season tour but have so far failed to impress.

The team drew their first game to League One outfit Wrexham before losing to Celtic 4-1.
