THE 2024 Olympics has reached a thrilling conclusion after 16 spectacular days in Paris.

Last time out, GB finished fourth in the standings three years ago in Tokyo with 22 gold medals and 64 in total.

But it was USA who came out on top then with a whopping 39 golds from 113 medals.

In six of the last seven Olympics the USA have finished top of the medal standings, with China coming out on top in their home games in Beijing 16 years ago.

Team GB won 65 medals - in total one more than the 64 from Tokyo.

Though GB won fewer gold medals this time, with 14 in Paris and 22 three years ago.

USA TOPPED the medal table, finishing above China on medals won after both won 40 golds.

US triumphed in the very last event - the women's basketball - to seal their place as the top nation.

Discovery+ is the main rights holder for the Paris 2024 Olympics and will provide “wall-to-wall linear coverage on its Eurosport channels (1 and 2), along with seven dedicated Olympic ‘pop-up’ channels”.

BBC One and Two will air the biggest events from the 33rd Olympic Games and will provide an Olympics Extra channel available on iPlayer, Red Button and online.

However, the BBC can only show two events happening at any moment live at the same time due to discovery+ being the main European rights holder.
