FANS were stunned after spotting forgotten Premier League champion Naby Keita at the Olympic opening ceremony.

The midfielder won the Prem with Liverpool in 2020.

But his five-year spell at Anfield was plagued by injuries and he failed to live up to expectations.

So fans were surprised to see Keita feature in Paris during the opening ceremony.

The Werder Bremen star represented Guinea and even had the honour of being the flag bearer for his nation.

He is set to feature for Guinea as they take on hosts France before meeting USA.

Fans were pleasantly surprised to see Keita, who travelled down the River Seine on board a boat along with his fellow athletes.

One reacted saying: "Naby Keita as flag bearer has made my day 😂😂"

Another added: "I think we've already seen more of Naby Keita on the Guinea Olympic boat than we saw of him for Liverpool in his last season."
