Who is Emily Craig?

Craig was born on November 30, 1992 in Pembury, a village in Kent.

She first took to rowing at 12-years-old and set her sights on the Olympics after joining the Bewl Bridge Rowing Club.

Craig represented GB at the U23 World Championships in 2013 before completing a Masters in East Asian Art in 2015.

After that, she joined the senior GB Rowing Team and picked up European and World gold medals lightweight double and quadruple sculls.

She made her Olympics debut in the delayed Tokyo Games in 2021 but it ended in heartbreak.

Along partner Imogen Grant, they finished in fourth - 0.01 seconds outside the medals in the women's lightweight double sculls.

Craig had contemplated giving up the sport following the Tokyo Games - but she is out for redemption in the French capital.

She said: "It took until February the next year until I was sure I wanted to come back and give it another go.

"I think for both of us going away, finding value in ourselves, away from sport, was quite important to come back feeling refreshed and attack it with a new attitude.”

She will again pair with Grant in the lightweight women’s double sculls.

When will Emily Craig be competing in the Paris Olympics?

The Games officially kicks off from Friday, July 26 and culminates on Sunday, August 11.

But the women's double sculls kicks off on Day 1 from 8am.

The rowing then finishes one week later on Friday, August 2.
