  • Gunners ahead at the break

A youthful Arsenal side lead Bournemouth by a goal to nil at the interval.

The goal coming after 18 minutes, with more good play from Reiss Nelson down the left. He stood a cross up with his left foot to the back post where Fabio Vieira came in and volleyed expertly, low and hard into the bottom corner.

Eddie Nketiah had another couple of opportunities for the captain for the night hasn't really trouble Neto in the Bournemouth goal.

Dominic Solanke came closest for the Cherries. He had a shot blocked just after the opening goal.

But his best chance came after a high press and when receiving the ball inside the area, he sent Lewis-Skelly with a sublime turn before smashing at goal, only to see it smashing the bar and bouncing away.

Hein in the Arsenal goal getting a slight touch to that in what turned out to be a stunning save.

Chances at both ends though and played at a real pace.

  • Arsenal 1-0 Bournemouth

    44. Solanke is adjudged to have fouled Lewis-Skelly from that delivery.

    One minute added.

  • Arsenal 1-0 Bournemouth

    43. Great centre forward play from Solanke which almost brings the equaliser!

He is on the shoulder and collects a ball over the top on the left side of the area.

Solanke holds it up well and then slides in Kerkez making the underlapping run. His cross almost finds one of the three darting Bournemouth attackers in the middle but Timber is there to nod it behind for a corner.

  • Arsenal 1-0 Bournemouth

    41. Cracking run from Timber, through the heart of the Bournemouth team.

A glimpse of what to expect this season...

He feeds Nketiah on the edge of the box, who works the ball onto his right foot and fires low and hard at goal which Neto collects down to his left.

  • Arsenal 1-0 Bournemouth

    39. Kerkez with some good work down the left and he works the space for a cross, firing low and hard into the area.

Three in red inside the box but it's an Arsenal man who meets it first to clear.

  • Arsenal 1-0 Bournemouth

    36. Excellent football in their own defensive third by Lewis-Skelly and Nelson.

Tidy footwork and clever passing sees Nelson prevent the concession of the corner with a nutmeg and eventually the pair work it to halfway where they find Nketiah in behind.

Good possession from Arsenal but comes to nothing.

  • Arsenal 1-0 Bournemouth

    34. Nketiah skips by Zabarnyi on halfway down the left and the Cherries defender shoves him to ground.

Even in a friendly that's worth a yellow card and that's exactly what he receives.

  • Arsenal 1-0 Bournemouth

    32. Bit of a disservice to the goalkeeper there.

What an incredible save it was from Hein, who gets the slightest of touches via his fingertips to divert it onto the bar.

Remarkable save to keep Arsenal in front.

  • Arsenal 1-0 Bournemouth

    SOLANKE SMASHES THE BAR!

    31. Huge chance for the Bournemouth marksman to level this one.

Another great example of the Bournemouth press as they win the ball back just a few yards outside the Arsenal box.

Tavernier fires a pass into Solanke's path inside the area and he sells the dummy to Heaven with a sublime turn on his left foot before smashing at goal and it comes back crashing off the bar from 15 yards.

  • Arsenal 1-0 Bournemouth

    27. Plenty to say for both managers as their teams grouped there.

    We're back underway now though!

  • Arsenal 1-0 Bournemouth

    25. Nearly again for Bournemouth!

Good from Tavernier to shuffle the ball out wide to Anthony on the left. He smashes the ball low and hard right across goal but nobody is there to tap it home!

  • Arsenal 1-0 Bournemouth

    23. Sloppy from Partey and he concedes a needless corner.

It's a dangerous ball into the box and is into the Arsenal six-yard box where Lewis-Skelly appears to handball it before getting it clear.

Not given by the officials and we play on.

  • Arsenal 1-0 Bournemouth

    21. Big chance for Solanke!

It's a well-worked chance down the left for Bournemouth and his pace and power sees Solanke into the area.

He has plenty of support with three team-mates up and inside the area but Solanke goes alone and sees his effort from 15 yards blocked by a flying Arsenal defender.

    Kerkez is furious!

  • Arsenal 1-0 Bournemouth

    19. They're almost straight in again, Arsenal.

Salah just doesn't have the pace, having broken in behind near halfway. The Cherries' backline get back to snuff out the danger.

    GOAL DETAIL

    18. If it was going to come, it was going to come from Reiss Nelson's work.

He drives to the byline down the left and works the ball onto his left side, dinking a tempting cross to the back post.

Vieira gives Nketiah a shout and smashes a low volley into the bottom corner from eight yards.

  • GOAL ARSENAL!

Fabio Vieira opens the scoring in Los Angeles!

  • Arsenal 0-0 Bournemouth

    16. Huge chance for Nketiah!

He's slipped into the box by Reiss Nelson and 12 yards out has a clear passage to goal on his left side.

He tries to cut back inside on his right foot and Zabarnyi is sliding in, with Nketiah tripping over his own feet and Bournemouth scramble it away. He should be scoring that!

  • Arsenal 0-0 Bournemouth

    15. Floated ball in from Vieira as the Arsenal attacking players make their darting runs.

There's no clean header on the delivery and it bounces harmlessly through to Neto.

  • Arsenal 0-0 Bournemouth

    14. Free kick to Arsenal, 30 yards from goal on the right of centre.

A chance for the big men at the back to load the Bournemouth box once more.

  • Arsenal 0-0 Bournemouth

    11. Bournemouth going man-for-man out of possession, pressing the Arsenal back four when they're in possession.

The Gunners not given much time when on the ball.

  • Arsenal 0-0 Bournemouth

    7. Neto doesn't deal with the corner and it's a decent chance again for Nketiah.

White puts the keeper off and stops the keeper collecting and Nketiah will have wanted to do better with that, failing to trouble the keeper from 10 yards and Neto is able to collect this time.

  • Arsenal 0-0 Bournemouth

    6. Great play from Arsenal and the game's first chance goes begging!

Vieira with a driving run down the right gets him away from the defenders. He cuts in and plays a great reverse pass into the path of Nketiah on the edge of the box.

He takes one touch to steady himself and fires low but Zabarnyi does well to slide in and block it behind for a corner.
