Okoli spent the last season on loan at Frosinone and while he made 37 appearances he could not stop the side from being relegated to Serie B.

And although not yet official Leicester have accidentally revealed the defender's first interview on the club's YouTube channel - before it was quickly deleted.

And one fan called the leak a "genuinely impressive incompetence at this point".

The 22-year-old has penned a five-year deal at the King Power Stadium.

This marks Steve Cooper's third signing of the summer following the arrival of Michael Golding from Chelsea and Bobby De Cordova-Reid from Fulham.

Speaking to the club Okoli said: "I think now is the right moment [for me] to make a step forward and a very big one.

"I’m very happy with the choice I made, so I’m very excited to start in the Premier League.

"Now I’m here in Leicester I’m feeling ready to start with my new team.

“It was the right opportunity and it’s very important for me. The Premier League is the best league in the world.

"Leicester is a beautiful club, an important club and the two combined together, so I took this opportunity to come and express myself in the Premier League.”

Premier League sides deducted points and others at risk

Born in Vicenza, Italy, Okoli joined Atalanta in the summer of 2015 and won the National Youth Super Cup with the U19s in 2019.
