ALICA SCHMIDT discussed her workout regime ahead of the Olympics in Paris.
The "world's sexiest athlete" is set to represent Germany in the 4x400m relay.
She qualified for the Games while competing at the World Athletics Relays Bahamas back in May, and believes her training regime has been key to her success.
In an interview with , Schmidt was asked about the importance of strength training.
She responded saying: "This is very important, sometimes I do 4 to 5 strength training sessions per week. The focus is on the legs, but I also do upper body training and a lot of core training. Every muscle group is covered.
"My favourite exercise is always the one where I develop the most and see a lot of progress. My all-time favourite: hip thrusts , I'm good at them and can lift a lot of weight.

"I reduce the intensity a little so that I can start refreshed. But I still train every day.
"Basically, a typical training week is extremely varied. I do sprints, of course, but also sprint endurance, strength, and strength endurance training, tempo runs, and jumps."
Schmidt, 25, has an enormous fanbase with five million followers on Instagram.
She often shares updates about her training and performances.

And after competing in the German Championships last week she ran up to her boyfriend and kissed him.
Schmidt has reportedly been dating photographer Fredi Richter-Mendau for eight years.
