SNOOKER'S biggest stars will compete for a share of a lucrative prize fund as well as the Shanghai Masters title THIS WEEK.
Ronnie O'Sullivan heads to China as the defending champion following his victory in last year's final.
The Rocket beat Luca Brecel 11-9 in 2023 to claim his fourth title in a row and fifth overall.
His triumph saw the snooker legend scoop £210,000 from the £825,000 prize fund.
O'Sullivan faces strong competition for a repeat victory this time around, though, with Judd Trump and Mark Selby also amongst the field.

The total pot of prize money is unchanged from O'Sullivan's win in last year's non-ranking event.

When is the Shanghai Masters 2024?
The Shanghai Masters gets underway on July 15 with 16 players competing in the first round.

Those involved will include four wildcard qualifiers for the event.
O'Sullivan is amongst eight seeded players awaiting the first round winners in the last 16.
The opening two rounds and the quarter-finals will be best of 11 frames, before increasing to 19 and 21 for the semi-finals and final, respectively.
Snooker fans can watch the action live from the 13,000-capacity Shanghai Grand Stage.
The venue has hosted 12 of the 14 editions of the Shanghai Masters after the event returned to the arena last year.
Both the 2018 and 2019 tournaments were held at the Regal International East Asia Hotel before a three-year hiatus due to the pandemic.
