JUSTIN GATLIN will reveal how he went from eating filet mignon to being embarrassed to go outdoors and wanting to take his own life in a tell-all movie.

The American drugs cheat was convicted of doping in 2006 and given an eight-year ban that was eventually reduced to four.

And his intention in Rise Again - The Justin Gatlin Story is to show how his life crashed from being "fun and beautiful" to "cold, cut-throat and nasty".

Talking to , the 2004 Olympic gold medallist, 35, said: "It's a window into that kind of realm that no one has ever seen. A way for me to get that rawness out there.

"At the top, I was flying high. I didn't understand what it meant to be down and out.

"What I went through in those four years, it makes me, in a way, a poster child.

"I've been to the top, to eat filet mignon, to have sweets, travelling around the world, having everything at your fingertips, to being embarrassed just to walk around in society."

Gatlin says the shame got so much he wanted to drive his car into a tree.

But the double 2005 world champion - who tested positive for excessive testosterone - has also experienced heartbreak on the track.

It was at the 2015 World Championships when he leaned too soon nearing the finish line and thus allowed Usain Bolt to pip him by .01 seconds.

Remarkably, Gatlin has come back faster after his drugs shame and rediscovered the joy he used to find in life.

Gatlin, who in one scene is shown outracing his childhood friends on foot with them on bikes, added: "In kindergarten, my son is drawing pictures of me on top of podiums, with medals on.

"He loves me for me. He's so proud of me. It's way better than being on top of 100 podiums. Way better."
