SPIRIT MIXER (3.10 Newcastle, nap)
He came right back to form when third at Goodwood last time and can go close in what looks a wide-open Plate. He was second in this two years ago when just half a length behind Trueshan and is 6lb lower in the weights now. He has been relatively lightly raced since and ran well last time. He has a solid chance for Andrew Balding.
KING OF CONQUEST (2.50 Newmarket, nb)
He powered away from Aimeric to score at Goodwood last time and can confirm that form. He relished every yard of this trip and he’s got decent form on fast and slow ground.
KINROSS (2.04 Newcastle, treble)
He can make his Group 1 class count on this drop in grade. He has plenty of stamina, which will be an asset as this is a stretching six furlongs. He has winning form on the all-weather and was last seen finishing second in Ascot’s Champions Sprint. He goes well fresh and should be too sharp.

NEWCASTLE

CROSS THE TRACKS has such a strong track record with two wins and a second from his three visits.
It might have been a perfect record had his 5lb claiming rider not dropped the reins at a crucial stage.
Rising star Billy Loughnane is on board today and he can improve past a 6lb rise for a bloodless win last time. He likes to be up there but doesn’t have to lead and has more to come.
City House went down in a photo at Kempton last time and has shown his best over this trip. He looks on a fair mark and will be right there.
Wiltshire blew out at Newbury last time but earlier won a hot handicap. A repeat of that form would bring him right into it.
Batal Dubai won this 12 months ago and is only 1lb higher in the weights. He ran well on his last visit and is a danger along with Almarada Prince who was a good second in hot company at York latest.

KINROSS can make his Group 1 class count on this drop in grade. He has plenty of stamina, which will be an asset as this is a stretching six furlongs.
He has winning form on the all-weather and was last seen finishing second in Ascot’s Champions Sprint. He goes well fresh and should be too sharp.
Albasheer has a good record here and landed a hot handicap over course and distance in January. He hasn’t seemed at home on turf this season and can show his true colours.
Spycatcher is very game and was a close second in this 12 months ago. He held his own at the highest level last season and will be on the premises again.
Montassib kicked off the season with a good win in the mud at Donny and wasn’t far away again in hot company at York last month. He can miss the break but likes to come late anyway.
Cold Case has some useful form and is proven in this grade. He has gone well fresh so can’t be written off.
2.35
MARBUZET was a little unlucky at Thirsk last time and this longer trip should help.
He has been running well for Tim Easterby and should be able to take this off a modest mark of 66.
Two Tony Martin horses – currently trained by his sister after he copped a six-month anti-doping ban – look dangerous.
Alphonse Le Grande was impressive when scoring at Chester last month and has loads of staying power.
Fancied stablemate Belgoprince came back to form over hurdles 18 days ago and has run well on the all-weather before.
Zimmerman didn’t get much luck at Chester latest and has had a little nudge down the weights. He stays and won’t be far away.
Faylaq came from a fair way back when third over 1m5f at Hamilton. He doesn’t win very often but this longer trip will give him a chance to hit top gear.
Chillhi likes it here and could improve for this stamina test.

SPIRIT MIXER came right back to form when third at Goodwood last time and can go close in what looks a wide-open Plate.
He was second in this two years ago when just half a length behind Trueshan and is 6lb lower in the weights now.
He has been relatively lightly raced since and ran well last time. He has a solid chance for Andrew Balding.
In-form Sir Mark Prescott has two good chances. The well-backed Trooper Bisdee is a proven stayer who won one of Pontefract’s marathons last time.
But I prefer the claims of True Legend who went down in a tight finish over 1m6f at Goodwood. Hs shapes like a stayer and should be on the premises.
Local boy Brian Ellison has a good chance with Onesmoothoperator.
He has been knocking on the door and was a close second over this trip at Southwell last time. He has winning form here and is on a fair weight.
In contrast, Ellison’s other runner Tashkhan is classy but looks to have too much lead in the saddle.
Zoffee got the better of Grand Providence when winning the Chester Cup. Despite the trip, that turned into a bit of a sprint which didn’t help the latter.
They should both run well and it would be no shock to see the form turned around.
Duke Of Oxford got no luck in running in that Roodee contest and is better judged on his close second on all-weather finals day here. He’s off the same mark and is dangerous.
Spartan Army saves his best for this surface and was a solid third here in that Good Friday contest. A repeat of that would give him a chance.
3.40
UNITED APPROACH showed lots of promise when fourth on comeback at Newbury last time.
That was just his fourth run and his handicap debut where he didn't get a lot of luck in running. He should come on for that and looks on a very fair weight.
Documenting is very much at the veteran stage now but went close at Chester last time and goes well on the all-weather.
Zip likes this track and was a good second on his latest visit last month. He has had a welcome nudge down the weights.
NEWMARKET

TALES OF THE HEART looked classy when winning on debut at Kempton last time.
She cruised along nicely before showing a sharp turn of speed. Ralph Beckett is in top form and there’s more to come.
Havana Gila had plenty up her sleeve when scoring at York 15 days ago.
She showed real pace dropped back to the minimum but finished off strongly and should have no issue getting home under The Favourite’s Hayley Turner.
Teej A is improving with every run and followed a convincing Chester success with a commanding victory at Epsom.
This is tougher but she can take a major step forward for Karl Burke.
Santa Savana clocked a good time for a newcomer when winning at Leicester. She stays well and Oisin Murphy is on board again which can’t hurt.
2.50
KING OF CONQUEST powered away from Aimeric to score at Goodwood last time and can confirm that form.
He relished every yard of this trip and he’s got decent form on fast and slow ground.
Aimeric is still the biggest danger and he’s 3lb better off here but it’s hard to see that making too much difference.
Saying that, the Frankel colt is clear second best.
Crystal Delight has going well in handicaps with easy wins at Epsom and York. He likes to go from the front and would be dangerous if getting his own way.
It’s not sure he will as the tip’s stablemate Kemari likes to be up with the pace as he was when winning this race 12 months ago.
He can’t be written off but will need a personal best after a break.
3.25
NOBLE DYNASTY was impressive when winning from the front on the Rowley Mile last month.
He is best over this specialist trip and the second from last time came out and won at Royal Ascot. He can lead them all home again.
Pogo won this race in 2022 and was a close-up third last season. He’s getting on a bit now but ran well in the John Of Gaunt at Haydock last time and can make his presence felt.

Sir Michael Stoute is in great form so his Nostrum isn’t dismissed. He has been gelded since a poor comeback run and that could buck him up at a track where he won a Listed contest last season.
Tiber Flow was an easy winner in this grade at Haydock so can’t be ignored despite this looking a bit stronger.
