PIERS MORGAN could not resist going in two-footed and mocking Manchester United after the news that Erik ten Hag was staying.
The Dutchman, 54, was given the thumbs up to stay on at Old Trafford next season following a two-week end-of-season review last night.
After months of uncertainty over his job amid their dismal Premier League and European campaign, his FA Cup victory over Man City has saved him.
And Sir Jim Ratcliffe has performed a dramatic U-turn by not only sticking with Ten Hag but also opening talks on a new deal with the United boss.
That decision has been made despite the fact that Ratcliffe and his Ineos team sounded out a number of potential managers to replace him.
And Arsenal-supporting TalkTV host Morgan did not take long to react to the news after reading it on X.

Argentina winger Alejandro Garnacho has enjoyed an impressive breakthrough into being a first-team regular this term under Ten Hag.
And the 19-year-old’s brother, Roberto Garnacho, posted on X: “TEN HAG I LOVE YOU.”

But he led United to FA Cup glory by beating Prem champions and neighbours City at Wembley on May 25.
It is believed Ten Hag’s excellent work in developing young players such as England midfield star Kobbie Mainoo and Alejandro Garnacho went down favourably and was aligned with the club’s tradition of creating a pathway for young stars to thrive at Old Trafford.
The hierarchy also appreciated the crippling injury record and noted key signings Andre Onana and Rasmus Hojlund - as well as the injury-struck Mason Mount - will be better following their debut seasons at the club.
