BRIGHTON have reportedly been granted a work permit for Fabian Hurzeler.
The American-born German is the club's top target to become the new manager of the team.
Hurzeler, 31, will arrive at the Amez Stadium as Roberto De Zerbi's replacement.
The Italian coach left the South Coast at the end of the season.
He would become the youngest permanent manager in Premier League history.
Attilio Lombardo holds the current record having taken charge at 32, while Ryan Mason held a caretaker role for Tottenham at 28.
