Turkey vs Georgia LIVE RESULT: Real Madrid wonderkind scores goal of tournament contender to win Euro thriller – latest
Sponsored by
TURKEY and Georgia played out the match of Euro 2024 so far - but it was Turkey who came away with all three points.
Three of the best goals we've seen in Germany were all scored in this one, with Mert Mulder setting the tone with a stunning long-rage volley to open the scoring.
Georges Mikautadze then equalised for the Georgians, who will feel unlucky not to get a point, with an excellent finish at the near post.
But it was Real Madrid wonderkid Arda Guler who stole the headlines, firing in a brilliant long-range effort to win the match as Turkey held on under late pressure to win - Georgia hitting the post - before they scored a third with the last kick of the game.

Turkey 1-0 Georgia
27. What a strike that was.
Georgia tried to head the ball clear and it dropped to Muldur outside the box on the volley.
He strikes it first time into the top corner for what may be the goal of the tournament so far.
Goal - Mert Muldur (Turkey)
Turkey 0-0 Georgia
23. Kokcu picks the ball up some way out and looks to cut inside and get a shot away.
It is headed clear by the Georgia defence as they continue to protect Mamardashvili's goal.
When in possession, Georgia are playing some nice passing football.
Turkey 0-0 Georgia
21. Both teams are snatching at shots when they have a half-chance in front of goal at the moment.
The longer Georgia keep this game level, the pressure will grow on Turkey, being such huge favourites for victory.
As it stands, Turkey have had 74% possession so far.
Turkey 0-0 Georgia
19. There seems to be a lot more Turkish fans in the stadium.
Whenever Georgia are on the ball all you can hear are jeers and boos from the Turkish fans.
That said, Georgia are starting to grow into this game and getting forward more often now.
Turkey 0-0 Georgia
17. It is very much attack versus defence in the main.
Georgia are getting numbers behind the ball and inviting Turkey to try and break them down.
They manage to counter and Mekvabishvili whips in a dangerous cross along the six yard box but there is no one there to tap home.
Turkey 0-0 Georgia
15. Yilmaz tries his luck from the angle but the Georgian keeper makes a save and gathers the ball at the second time of asking.
The game plan for Georgia seems to be absorbing the Turkish onslaught and trying to catch them on the break.
So far so good for Willy Sagnol's side.
Turkey 0-0 Georgia
13. This game is starting to liven up now.
Georgia come forward and Mekvabishvili shoots from distance and it takes a deflection off the Turkish defender.
It seems to be heading into the bottom corner but Gunok makes a great save to tip it behind for a corner.
Turkey 0-0 Georgia
11. Turkey are starting to dominate the game now.
As they recycle another corner it is laid off to Ayhan just outside the box.
He strikes it first time and thunders off the inside of the post and comes back out into play.
So close to an opening goal there.
Turkey 0-0 Georgia
9. Georgia are the second-lowest ranked team to ever make it to the tournament.
They should look upon this as a free hit in Germany as nobody expects anything of them.
An opportunity to go out and play their natural game with no pressure whatsoever.
Turkey 0-0 Georgia
7. Turkey force an early corner in the game.
As the ball is swung in, it is a free header for Bardakcı.
Sadly for the defender he cannot keep his effort down as it goes well over the crossbar.
Turkey 0-0 Georgia
5. We are seeing in the early stages that Guler is the danger man for the men in red.
The Real Madrid youngster certainly has the skills to make something happen.
You wonder whether Georgia's best form of defence is attack this evening.
Turkey 0-0 Georgia
3. Turkey try a clipped ball through the middle for Yilmaz but it he cannot get it under his spell.
It was slightly overhit, but had it not been, the striker would have been clean through on goal.
Georgia need to be wary of parting like the Red Sea as they did there.
Turkey 0-0 Georgia
1. We wondered whether we would see any football at one stage but we are thankfully underway in Dortmund.
Both teams seem keen to get hold of the ball and pass it around.
Being the favourites, the Crescent Stars will be looking to create some early chances.

As the heavy downpour came down in Dortmund, some of the fans in the stadium got an unexpected shower in their seats.
It put the game going ahead in some doubt for a while but it seems to have eased off now.
The main thing being that the waterfall features in the stadium seem to have been switched off also.
Feisty start to game in Dortmund
We have had about everything you could guess so far before a ball has even been kicked in this one.
Trouble has flared up between the two sets of supporters but the German police seem to have it under control now.
Let's hope it is the football we are talking about after the final whistle in this one.

Objects are being thrown and the two sets of 'supporters' are trying to get over fences to get at each other.
More to follow.
Breaking News - Game in risk of postponement
The match between Turkey and Georgia is at risk of being called off this evening.
Heavy rain in the area has led to the roof in the stadium leaking and water pouring into the stands.
No final decision has been made as yet as UEFA decide how to play this one, read more here.
Montella with plenty to prove
Turkey have underwhelmed in their last two appearances in the tournament, having exited at the group stage on both occasions.
Their best performance previously was in Euro 2008 when they reached the semi-finals.
That said, their aim this time around will be to reach the knockout phases.
Georgians living the dream
This will be a massive honour to appear in Euro 2024 having never qualified for a tournament previously.
Largely seen as massive outsiders to even get out of the group, the pressure is off Willy Sagnol's team.
This should allow them to go out and enjoy their football and show the watching world what they are made of.
