TURKEY and Georgia played out the match of Euro 2024 so far - but it was Turkey who came away with all three points.

Three of the best goals we've seen in Germany were all scored in this one, with Mert Mulder setting the tone with a stunning long-rage volley to open the scoring.

Georges Mikautadze then equalised for the Georgians, who will feel unlucky not to get a point, with an excellent finish at the near post.

But it was Real Madrid wonderkid Arda Guler who stole the headlines, firing in a brilliant long-range effort to win the match as Turkey held on under late pressure to win - Georgia hitting the post - before they scored a third with the last kick of the game.

All to play for still in group

Turkey will face a mammoth task in their next game as they go up against group favourites Portugal.

Georgia will get the chance to try and impress once again as they face the Czech Republic.

It is still hard to call who will progress from this group, although a lot of questions will be asked if Portugal aren't one of those teams.

Georgia perform on Euros debut

All the talk will be about Turkey this evening but Georgia can be proud of their first ever match in the Euros.

Having fallen behind, they showed some grit to find a way back into the game and probably should have taken the lead after that.

Even when they fell behind in the second half, in the last gasps of added time, they created chances to draw level and will be left wondering what could have been.

Madrid wonderkid wows in Germany

While he has struggled to get much game time due to the abundance of riches at the disposal of Carlo Ancelotti, Arda Guler showed his manager what he can do today.

There were parts of the game where he was quiet but his goal was something of pure genius.

It was integral to this victory and will be a warning to the other teams in this group that they need to have a plan for him.

Captain leads the way in Dortmund

While many other players will take the plaudits with their stunning goals, Hakan Calhanoglu put in a real skipper's performance.

He covered so much ground, helping out in defence but also supporting the attacks, he was integral to his side's victory.

This is the kind of player every side needs, allowing the flair players to do their thing.

Turkey scored some fantastic goals in that game and this victory will give them confidence for the rest of the tournament.

Georgia were no mugs by any stretch of the imagination and made Vincenzo Montella's side work hard for the three points.

For the neutral, this was a joy to watch.

Kvaratskhelia does brilliantly to get a cross in from the byline.

They would be better off looking to retain possession and see this game out now.

Time is running out if they are hoping to get anything from this game.
