ROBIN GOSENS has revealed he cried for two minutes with his wife after being told he had not made Germany's squad for the Euros.
The Union Berlin star, 29, can play as both a midfielder and wing-back on the left flank and has earned 20 caps for his country.
Six of those came last year, before he was left out of Julian Nagelsmann's squad in March.
The German boss' 26-man squad has since been confirmed for the summer as the host nation look to claim their first European Championship since 1996.
But Gosens, who made Germany's last Euros squad, has not been included this time around following a difficult season for Union Berlin which saw them finish 15th in the Bundesliga, avoiding the relegation play-off place on goal difference.
And he has now opened up about the anguish he felt when learning of his omission as he cried with wife Rabea Bohlke.

Speaking in a , he said: "It felt like s**t.
"He [Nagelsmann] called me and said: 'Robin, I'm really sorry, but I can't take you with me. I really appreciate you, but unfortunately Union's season is blowing up in your face.'
"When you subordinate everything to it, when it's an absolute childhood dream that then just disappears into thin air... to have that certainty, it pulls everything out from under you.
"Then we hung up and I cried for myself. Then I called my wife and said, 'Honey, I didn't make it.'
