ROBERT MACINTYRE wiped away tears after winning his first ever PGA Tour title as his dad stepped in as "emergency" caddie.
The Scot beat the likes of Rory McIlory and Benjamin Griffin at the Canadian Open.
MacIntyre ended one stroke better than the competition as he finished 16 under par at the Hamilton Golf and Country Club.
After sealing victory, the world No76 broke down in tears and hugged his dad Dougie.
MacIntyre, 27, said: "I'm speechless. This is just everything, for me and my family, for my girlfriend, my team. I can't believe it.
"I'm crying with joy and laughing because I didn't think it was possible."

A pep talk by his dad also proved vital as MacIntrye explained: "He was having a wee go at me when I was walking from the 10th tee down to the fairway.
"Look, he was a sporting guy, he knows how to win, knows how to lose, he’s been through it all.
"He could see my head going a little bit and he’s like: ‘What have you been working on for the last eight weeks, 10 weeks?’ when I realised what was the problem."
Tears then ran down the face of his father Dougie, who added: "I'm a grass cutter not a caddie. Unbelievable.

"Last Saturday night he phoned me. Can I leave my job here, I'm busy at work.
"Eight o'clock the next morning I'm on a flight out here and wow."
Dougie, head greenkeeper at Glencruitten Golf Club, filled in for his son as last year's Ryder Cup winner with Team Europe is between caddies after splitting with Mike Burrows.
Before the start of the weekend's action, MacIntyre revealed: "Yeah, it was an emergency and he stepped up to the plate.
"He’s a good golfer himself, but this kind of level, he’s a bit out of his depth."
MacIntyre's win sees him take home a cheque for £1.3million.
He will spend his winnings on paying off his parents' mortgage.
And he is the first Scot to taste victory on the PGA Tour since Martin Laird in 2020.
