McGregor has said he believes a £1BILLION showdown with Mayweather will happen before the year is out.

Over the last 12 months, the two global megastars have been trading insults, mostly over social media, ahead of a proposed boxing clash.

McGregor recently said: "Me and Floyd have got to get together and talk the same way him and Manny [Pacquiao] figured it out.

"Once we come to a number, once we come to a set number that I’m happy with, that he’s happy with, then we go to the customers.

"Then we go to the promoters, to the buyers, and then we get it done. That’s next.

"We’ll figure the situation out then go to the dotted line, but this is happening."

Mayweather said he would pay McGregor around £12million before UFC president Dana White stepped in to offer the undefeated legendary boxer £20m plus a share of all revenue.

But Mayweather blasted the offer, describing White as a "f****** comedian."

McGregor then said: "I’m happy there was an offer made, we’re getting there. We’re moving up.

"First of all, it was like, 'It’s going to happen.' Now there’s an offer on the table. It’s still not there yet. But if Manny and Floyd [made] half a billion, I believe this one, cross sports, never before seen, this is the first billion-dollar fight. People got to pay for a billion-dollar fight."
