Amir Khan: Nate Diaz and boxer train at Andre Ward’s gym as talks continue over his next opponent
Khan has seen fight with Kell Brook fall through and is targeting Danny Garcia as Diaz applies for boxing licence
THEY are both talented fighters in equally brutal sports.
But boxer Amir Khan and MMA star Nate Diaz have nothing but respect for each other as they train together at Andre Ward’s gym in Oakland, California.
The duo posed for a picture together and both look to be in good condition as they hunt their next opponents.
Khan is keen to scrap with WBC welterweight champ Danny Garcia after seeing a bout against Kell Brook fall through.
Khan was knocked out by Garcia during their fight in 2012 and is keen to set the record straight.
He said: “The fight between me and Garcia is something that always hurts me. I know I could have won that fight.”
Meanwhile, Diaz – who has applied for a boxing licence – was holding out for a UFC clash with Eddie Alvarez but was offered Robbie Lawler and Demian Maia instead.
Diaz clearly wasn’t impressed with Dana White’s proposition, writing on Twitter: “Lol at your fight…”
And gym owner Ward himself is desperate for another fight against Sergey Kovalev, with his first win dubbed a ‘fluke’ in some quarters.
