LUKE LITTLER is a “darting fiend” and can break a Premier League record in his debut season.

The teen sensation is just one win away over Peter Wright on Thursday night from finishing top of the table before the play-offs.

Former BDO World Champion Mark Webster believes that the 17-year-old can also win a record-breaking fifth night in Sheffield ahead of rivals Luke Humphries and Michael van Gerwen.

Webster said: “He’s just broken records throughout his small career. Throughout the Premier League, he’s fitted in.

"There was a lot of pressure on him at the beginning.

“But he’s handled all the pressure and won four nights. I think he will grab that fifth win.

“But he’s shown absolutely everything. He’s not had it all his own way. He’s shown how he can play in hostile atmospheres.

“He took on the crowd in Aberdeen. He’s been a great addition to the Premier League.

"He deserves to be top but it’s all about lifting that trophy at the O2 in a couple of weeks.”

Littler just needs to beat rock-bottom Wright in Sheffield to claim the top spot.

Then it comes down to the play-offs at the O2 a week later to decide who wins the title.

"Look at the World Championship. We knew what he was capable of, doing it at the Worlds is a completely different thing.

“This wasn’t supposed to happen so quickly. He’s settled here, he’s now won four weeks. He just settles very quickly in a darting environment.

“Nothing really perturbs him or worries him. He’s a bit of a darting fiend, the way he thinks is different to what newcomers do.”
