But the two put rivalries aside to share a drink as footage emerged from commentator Jerome Quinn at the post-match bash.

Champ Wilson got the mic and began to sing Robbie Williams' hit Rock DJ... before thinking better of it.

He joked: "Nah, we're having none of that! I've only had three Peroni's, no chance."

Wilson went onto hail opponent Jones before spotting snooker chief and businessman Hearn sharing a word.

That's when he joked: "I'd like to start by saying what an amazing tournament Jak Jones has had... Barry's just trying to sell him something!"

Wilson - who scooped the £500,000 top prize - cried tears of joy after beating Jones before sharing a hug with his brother and two sons.

And during his emotional post-match speech, he dedicated his victory to his family.

Wilson said: "I've dreamed of this moment since I was six years old. I've got my six-year-old and nine-year-old here with me.

"It still hasn't sunk in... it probably will after another ten Peroni's!"

Wilson ate only salmon in the run up to his title win - but fish was discarded during the after-party for chicken curry, chips and beers.

He never let go his grip of the silver snooker trophy – he cradled it like one of his children.

At the age of 32, time on his side to succeed again at the game’s highest level.

Wilson, who overtakes Ronnie O’Sullivan as world No.3, said: “I’d be disappointed if I only landed one. I believe I can become a multiple world champion.
