United's early exit from the Champions League has been followed by a disappointing Premier League campaign.

Sitting in sixth place, the Red Devils are unable to finish in the top four and could still miss out on Europa League qualification.

SunSport revealed last month that Ten Hag is now set for the sack after losing the support of the fans.

That is despite reaching the FA Cup final again and winning the Carabao Cup during his first campaign.

Former striker Owen agrees that Ratcliffe should part ways with Ten Hag, who still has a year remaining on his contract.

He told : "I’d be replacing him.

"Erik ten Hag has been there a while now and I’ve not seen loads of improvement. I don’t buy what he’s saying a lot of the time, either.

"[Sir Jim] Ratcliffe is a top businessman and he won’t be scared of making big decisions and he could have a big one to make in the summer. I think he will be looking for a new manager at the end of the season."

Pundits verdict on Ten Hag's future

Where do the pundits stand on Erik ten Hag's Manchester United future

Jamie Carragher - Sacked

"I don't see how Erik ten Hag stays. It's just performance after performance."

Gary Neville - Stay if he wins the FA Cup

"To sack a manager who’s won two trophies in his first two seasons at the club I think would be extreme."

Louis Saha - On the fence

"I don't see it as clearly but they need changes from the players but they need changes from him as well."

Alan Shearer - Sacked

"I believe the future of the Man Utd manager is already determined. Even if they win the FA Cup I think he's gone."

Ratcliffe has taken over United's football operations after purchasing a 25 per cent stake in the club.

He has since began his overhaul at Old Trafford, with football director John Murtough departing.
