Man Utd branded ‘luckiest team in the league’ as last minute penalty for Bournemouth controversially ruled out

FANS branded Manchester United the Premier League's "luckiest team" after DOUBLE penalty drama in a 2-2 draw at Bournemouth.

The Cherries had a stoppage-time spot-kick overturned by VAR - after Bruno Fernandes netted a controversial penalty for United.

Bournemouth's Ryan Christie tumbled following Willy Kambwala's lunge - but after video replays the resulting spot-kick decision was changed to a free-kick INCHES outside the box.

Fans claimed it's "unreal" how United profited from the key verdicts.

One posted: "They’ve done nothing in this game, 2 pens and they’re getting a point."

A third wrote: "They must be the luckiest team in the league."

But even that's an understatement according to a fourth viewer.

He was particularly upset at United's spot-kick - which others labelled "disgraceful" as it was given for Kobbie Mainoo's shot deflecting off Adam Smith's hand.

The fuming fan said: "United are genuinely the luckiest team in the world. What kind of penalty is that man."

Sticking to the theme, one observer insisted: "United have to go down as the luckiest team I’ve ever watched in my life."

A fellow frustrated supporter pondered the two contrasting spot-kick decisions as he posted: "Are there different rules for Man Utd penalties?"

Skipper Fernandes twice struck levellers for United but Erik ten Hag's men still went four Prem games without a victory.

Dominic Solanke and Justin Kluivert each put the Cherries briefly in front before the break.

The draw left the Red Devils seventh, 10 points off the top four, with Bournemouth remaining 12th.
