He is also fresh off the back of winning back-to-back youth events in Coventry.

The youngster hails from Scotland and has been tipped to achieve big things in the world of darts.

In his column, Wade said: "I have recently thought that a 10-year-old could beat me - and that would literally be the case if that was Owen Bryceland.

"If people are still shouting 'you've got school in the morning’ at Luke Littler, they'll be shouting about pre-school to young Owen.

"He is another one busting all records.

"His average of over 104 on the Foundation Tour this week is an incredible achievement at his age. Well done, Owen. Keep it up!"

Remarkably, Bryceland only picked up a dart two years ago but has already excelled on the youth circuits.

After beating fellow Scot 13-year-old Mitchell Lawrie in the Coventry Event 11 final, Bryceland said : " I got new darts last Friday so it was good to know they are good for me.

“Mitchell’s a good player and I like playing him because he’s good and it will take me up a level and make me play better.”

He has been struggling of late in the Player's Championship and vowed to bounce back in his column, saying: "The less we talk about the Players Championships this week, the better. I have just returned from two days of playing in Leicester. For the first time in many years, I suffered two first round exits.

"If I was physically able to kick myself, I would. Right now, my practice game is not translating to the floor. I am having too many spells where I suffer a dip in form during matches."
