Peerless Townend
Former jockey Andrew Thornton hailed Paul Townend's performance on I Am Maximus.
He told BBC Radio 5 Live: "What a performance. We were worried about him jumping left-handed but he took to the fences like a duck to water.
"He just took off and the way he hit the line so hard. That race is what every jockey dreams of winning. It was never in any doubt from the elbow."
Controversy over Grand National's start
The Grand National had drama from the word go as heavily-fancied Corach Rambler unseated at the first fence.
That was only after a suspicious standing start, where all the horses seemed to be on the move.
New rules meant the National was meant to begin with all the horses standing at the tape, but that didn't appear to be the case.

Punters the Victors
I am Maximus stepped into the arena and delivered a huge blow to the bookies.
Sam Boswell from said: "It was that man again Willie Mullins who so often is a thorn in our side.
"Whilst we had a significant spread of money in the race, we still ended up down thanks to the brilliant performance from his eight-year-old who had plenty of backers.
"The biggest winners were those who took advantage of our new Lucky Dip feature and scored a huge 28-1 win if they drew him from the field at random.
"Minella Indo, Delta Work and Kitty’s Light who all placed had plenty of each way support too and it continued the theme of the jumps season which has been utter Irish domination in the big races."
Picture perfect
We have two more races at Aintree but before we get to the 5pm, here are some more snaps.
Are you not entertained?
Winning trainer Willie Mullins has spoken to ITV.
He said: "Paul Townend was super on him, the horse wasn't giving him a lot of help. We saw last year in the Irish Grand National we had supreme confidence in the horse that he had a bit in the tank. He was biding his time and he delivered.
"I didn't say anything until the last fence but then I let go. I love it, I'm buzzing, it's huge. As far as I know all of our team are back in good order so I'm very happy with that."
All the horses are OK
We had 21 finishers and The Jockey club have confirmed that all the horses made it back safely.
Mac Tottie, who was pulled up and quickly dismounted by jockey James Bowen, required treatment and will be given extra care at the stables.
Man about Town
Winning jockey Paul Townend tells ITV Racing: "What an unbelievable race and an unbelievable horse. It is a bit surreal, to be honest.
"I ended up being first to the first and got to the Melling Road and he backed back.
"He got careful on the second circuit but I was trying to conserve energy. I didn’t get the clearest run between the second-last and last.
"I had the ones in front of me in my sights and he responded like I thought he would
"Gold Cups and Grade Ones are special but Grand Nationals are different. You need so much luck. I am a lucky boy."
Ruby praises racing gems
Two-time Grand National-winning jockey Ruby Walsh loved that race.
He told ITV: "Delta Work, Minella Indo, Kitty's Light have been to all of the big races and it's great to see them here."
