  • Red Devils looking to bounce back

It has been a regular occurance more this season but Man Utd will be looking to bounce back from their late defeat against Chelsea.

Facing Liverpool at Old Trafford presents the perfect opportunity for Erik ten Hag's side.

Nothing boosts morale than beating the old enemy.

  • Fans hoping for big performance

Man Utd supporters are flocking to Old Trafford today hoping to see their side put in a shift like no other this season.

Despite their FA Cup victory over their rivals, for large parts of the game Liverpool dominated.

They will be hoping that the Red Devils can put the visitors on the back foot akin to the old days during the Ferguson era.

  • Pressure mounting on Dutchman

As has been the case for a lot of the season, questions are being asked about the future of Man Utd manager Erik ten Hag.

Post-match interviews are worsening his cause as fans become infuriated with his deluded views of good performances and them deserving to win games.

Should the hosts suffer a heavy defeat against their rivals today, you would expect that time may be up for the Red Devils’ boss.

  • Reds looking to go top again

After both Man City and Arsenal won yesterday, Liverpool now find themselves second in the table.

Only victory today will see Jurgen Klopp’s side return to the Premier League summit.

As The Reds struggled to overcome Sheff Utd in midweek, it should have reaffirmed that no game can be taken for granted in their title pursuit.

  • United lose late in West London

After coming back from two-nil down against Chelsea, Erik ten Hag’s side then took the lead and looked set for victory.

With eight minutes of added time, a foul by Diogo Dalot led to a penalty which saw The Blues equalise.

To make matters worse, a Scott McTominay own goal then gifted victory to Mauricio Pochettino’s side in the 101st minute of the game.

  • Welcome to Man Utd vs Liverpool

Two fierce rivals go head to head at Old Trafford this afternoon. It has been a season to forget for Man Utd fans but they would love nothing more than to derail Liverpool’s title challenge.

After their midweek defeat to Chelsea, matters worsened for the Red Devils as Raphael Varane and Jonny Evans both picked up injuries which has made them doubts for today’s game.

Both Victor Lindelof and Lisandro Martinez are both out for Man Utd to add to their defensive crisis with 19-year-old Willy Kambwala primed to partner Harry Maguire if needed.

Casemiro was withdrawn after 15 minutes against Chelsea making him a big doubt for the game, while Tyrell Malacia, Anthony Martial and Altay Bayindir all miss out due to injury.

Liverpool will be hoping to have Waturo Endo available for today’s game after he missed their most recent game due to a knock he picked up against Brighton.

Other than this Joel Matip, Ben Doak, Stefan Bajcetic and Thiago Alcantara are all injured for The Reds.

The fixture is likely to come too soon for Diogo Jota, Trent Alexander-Arnold and Alisson Becker all of whom should return to training this week.

Endo’s return could see Ryan Gravenberch return to the bench while Andrew Robertson is ready to take over left-back duties from Joe Gomez.
