IT'S decision time for England gaffer Gareth Southgate as he names his training squad for Euro 2024 TODAY.

The Uefa international tournament takes place in Germany this summer, with the Three Lions aiming to go one further than in 2021.

England missed out on lifting the trophy at Wembley after a heartbreaking penalty shootout defeat to Italy in the final.

Since then, Southgate has experimented with his team with the World Cup in Qatar as new players rise to prominence.

The manager only has two more friendlies to assess players before the tournament kicks off on June 16.

The Three Lions face Bosnia and Herzegovina on June 3 and Iceland on June 7 in their final warm-up games before the competition.

When is the Euro 2024 squad announcement?

Southgate will name a preliminary England squad for Euro 2024 from 2pm BST on TUESDAY, MAY 21 - two days after the Premier League season ends.

Southgate will be able to name up to 26 players for the Euros after Uefa confirmed the squad list increase from 23 in May.

The deadline for the final squad is FRIDAY, JUNE 7.

Who will England play?

England enter the group stages and will have fixtures against Serbia on June 16, Denmark on June 20 and Slovenia on June 25.

Should they make it through the group as winners they could have clashes against the Czech Republic, Italy, France on their course to the final.

However, should they finish as runners-up, then England could face Germany, Spain and Portugal before the final.

Who is most likely to be picked?

Southgate will be keen to pick his best players which will likely include captain Harry Kane.

The striker has been in immense form since his move to Bayern Munich last season.

Jude Bellingham and Declan Rice will be certain picks after impressing at Real Madrid and Arsenal respectively.

Jordan Pickford has been England's undisputed No.1 under Southgate and will surely be between the sticks in Germany.

However, before the end of the season, players such as Manchester United's Kobbie Mainoo and West Ham's Jarrod Bowen could also get the call.

Crystal Palace midfielder Adam Wharton has certainly caught the eye since his January arrival from Blackburn Rovers and played a huge part in the Eagles' superb end to the season.

Who could miss out?

There could be some notable names missing from England's squad for Euro 2024.

Jordan Henderson has been a mainstay in the camp for Southgate but his poor showing at Ajax and stint at Al-Eittifaq could see him lose his spot.

Kalvin Phillips is another name that could miss out on the plane following his so far disastrous loan move to West Ham.

Full-backs Luke Shaw and Reece James have both proven to be injury-prone this season, which could see Southgate opt for more reliable options.
