He went on to win the British super-flyweight title in 2017, before taking the WBC flyweight title between 2018 and 2019.

Edwards vacated that title later that year following a No Contest against Julio Cesar Martinez and due to health concerns about making flyweight - and has fought at bantamweight ever since.

Edwards has since beaten Kyle Williams, Jacob Barreto and Darwing Martinez since moving up in weight.

He is the older brother of flyweight champion Sunny Edwards and the two often jokingly call each other out on social media.

"My opponent Georges Ory is a very good fighter, he’s a former European champion and won a version of the world title at super flyweight, but I will bet that he has never experienced anything quite like the red-hot atmosphere you only get at a packed York Hall.

"I can’t allow myself to be caught up in the emotion of the night, even though it would be easy to, given the difficulties and challenges I’ve encountered over the last few years."
