The Reds are top of the pile on 67 points, with the Gunners two back on 65 and champions City on 64.

Arsenal missed the chance to go top yesterday, but at least didn't lose ground to City after parking the bus and securing a 0-0 bore-draw at the Etihad against Pep Guardiola's depleted side.

Liverpool, meanwhile, beat Brighton 2-1 - giving our supercomputer plenty of food for thought.

Boffins and brainiacs over at , have built BETSiE, a supercomputer capable of crunching the numbers to make predictions.

Following the latest round of fixtures, BETSiE reckons that Liverpool will finish top of the tree on 87 points.

This would see Jurgen Klopp's side pick up 20 points from their final nine matches.

Arsenal are then predicted to come second with 86 points, and City a further two back on 84 in third.

BETSiE has also estimated the outcome of what's set to be a tight race for fourth.

Claiming seventh and a spot in Europe is set to be Newcastle, who beat West Ham 4-3 in a lunchtime thriller on Saturday, with Chelsea predicted to climb to eighth.

Making up the mid-table places will then be Brighton, Bournemouth, West Ham, Wolves and Fulham in ninth, 10th, 11th, 12th and 13th respectively.

Despite Nottingham Forest and Everton both receiving points deductions, BETSiE reckons that Sheffield United, Burnley and Luton will go down, in 20th, 19th and 18th.

Forest are then tipped to come 17th, with Everton 16th, Brentford 15th and Crystal Palace 14th.
