Wilson is two ahead for the first time since the early stages of the match yesterday.

    Gary Wilson 7-5 Zhang Anda.

  • Trump 2-4 Williams

Well that's exactly what Trump needed to do to put himself back in this match.

What a statement - a break of 81 give Trump a much better look at the semi-finals.

    Game on.

  • Trump 1-4 Williams

Williams wins an extremely tight fifth frame on the black.

It was a constant back and fourth from the pair and the first time a frame has gone down to the black between the two today.

It's an uphill battle for in-form Trump from here on out.

  • Wilson ahead

Gary Wilson has gone ahead for the first time today on Table 2.

The Englishman is now leading 6-5 against Zhang Anda as the pair head towards the conclusion of their match.

The winner of that tie will face Ronnie O'Sullivan in the semi-final tomorrow.

  • Trump 1-3 Williams

It's a tense start o the fifth frame with both players getting some points on the board.

Trump in just about in control with a 34-30 lead and is looking to keep hold of his place at the table.

    Williams watches on anxiously.

  • Heading back out

After a short break Trump and Williams are heading back to the table for the next four frames.

Trump needs to change his fortunes or he could be seeing a near-impossible task when the pair continue their battle later this evening.

  • Level on Table 2

Things are back level on Table 2 as Gary Wilson has levelled the scores to 5-5 in his match with Zhang Anda.

Their match continues to take time with the pair pushing each other to the limit in tight affair.

  • Trump 1-3 Williams

    Trump hits back!

Judd Trump wins the fourth frame after Williams concedes.

After trailing 35-0 Trump returned to the table to put himself in a superb position.

Williams is unable to fight back after missing his first shot back on the felt and concedes the frame.

There could be a fight back on now!

  • Trump 0-3 Williams

Things are looking bleak for Judd Trump who is already trailing 35-0 in the fourth frame.

Could we be seeing another trashing like we did with Ronnie O'Sullivan yesterday.

There's plenty of snooker still to play, but it's not looking good for the Englishman.

  • Trump 0-3 Williams

    TWO MISSED BALLS!

Williams looked to be in the driving seat late on in the third set, but completely MISSED the brown to allow Trump a chance at winning his first frame of the afternoon.

But despite working his way into a position to win the third frame, Trump then MISSED the pink!

Williams followed by using all his experience to win the frame himself. 3-0.

  • On Table 2

Things are underway on Table 2 as well.

Zhang Anda has won this afternoon's first frame - the match's ninth frame - after their clash resumed at 1pm.

    Zhang Anda 5-4 Gary Wilson

  • Trump 0-2 Williams

Mark Williams with a sensational second frame to blow away Judd Trump and take a 2-0 lead.

Williams won the frame in one visit with an 85-0 breezing.

It could have been more if not for a wayward black shot, but Williams will be chuffed with his early lead.

  • Trump 0-1 Williams

Wow! What an ending to that first frame. Mark Williams had the chance to win it with just the pink to put away, but missed his opportunity.

Only for Trump to then suffer the same fate and the pair trade blows to line up the perfect shot to bank the first frame.

Ultimately it was Williams who won in a intense battle between the pair 70-62 after Trump potted the white.

What a way to start this match - 1-0 Williams.

  • Trump 0-0 Williams

The nestled yellow proved costly allowing Williams to put 28 points on the board and open up the first frame.

Trump is back on the felt as we await to see who will win this intense opening frame in Manchester.

  • Trump 0-0 Williams

Trump has taken an early lead in the first frame with Williams yet to register any points.

The Englishman is currently 51-0 up against the Welshman and looks to be heading for a comfortable win in the first frame.

Although the cue ball has now nestled next to a yellow making his next shot much more difficult.

  • We're underway

Judd Trump breaks and immediately sits down leaving the table to Williams.

Gary Wilson and Zhang Anda are also underway on Table 2!

  • Williams aware of Trump's level

Mark Williams is well aware of how good his opponent will be this afternoon.

The Welshman gave a glowing review of Judd Trumps's season with his competitor the in-form player of the year.

Speaking to ITV ahead of their match-up, Williams said: "He's sort of dominating the game really.

"I think not for the likes of me, but other people will look at him and think they have to try and catch up

"Him, Selby and Robertson will be thinking they have to put the work in otherwise he could be dominating for the next five to ten years."

  • Getting shirty

Ronnie O’Sullivan has revealed his decorated shirts during major tournaments often cause him an unwanted issue.

After his 10-2 victory over Ali Carter, he said: “Where we put all these stickers and badges on different shirts at different tournaments, I have literally ruined every black shirt I have got.

“This is the only one I have left in the wardrobe. I thought I would give this one a good seeing to – this will be knackered by the end of the season I suppose.”

  • Ronnie pleased with result, not performance

Ronnie O'Sullivan said it was hard to judge if he performed well despite putting Ali Carter to the sword yesterday.

Speaking after his 10-2 win, he said: "It was a win. It’s difficult to assess your performance. I tried to play the right shot every time.

“It’s a great venue, a brilliant tournament, really good this event. It’s good to be in it.”

  • Selby's threat to quit

Mark Selby threatened to QUIT snooker after his Tour Championship exit on Tuesday.

The four-time world champion crashed out of the competition after 10-8 at the hands of Gary Wilson in Manchester.

Speaking after the loss, he said: “I felt flat out there. It is a big competition and if you can’t get yourself up for competitions like this there is something wrong.

“My performances this year have been like night and day. There has been no consistency. I started the season off OK and then was pathetic midway through. You think you’ve found something and the next game you are back to where you were.

“It is not enjoyable. I am putting the work in and working hard and nothing is happening so maybe it is time to do something else.

“If I put in the same performance in Sheffield [at the World Championship] that will be me done.”

Those two are set to return to action later today after interupting their face-off yesterday with the Chinese national leading 5-3.

  • O'Sullivan had to 'go back to basics'

Ronnie O'Sullivan has said he had to go "back to basics" and focus on his mental health this year after securing his place in the Tour Championship semi-finals.

The Rocket, who withdrew the Welsh Open earlier this year to protect his mental state, said: "It's been a hard year, drove myself pretty much insane really - it's just got to me,

"I had to go back to basics and get my head right. Deal with it because doing it the other way round isn't working.

"Just getting my head around it is the only option I have left. I've driven myself mad for the last two years and not enjoyed any of it."
