KOBBIE MAINOO is in line for a treble-your-money pay rise – less than a year after he signed a new deal.
Manchester United plan to tear up the deal he signed earlier this season and hand him a £60,000-a-week contract.
Mainoo, 18, is already tied down until 2027, with United having the option of a further year beyond that.
His pay rocketed to a weekly £20,000 when his first team appearances hit double figures a couple of months ago, as part of an agreement rewarding his rocket rise.
But United have already made up their minds about the teenager who has been the shining light in a disappointing season.
And talks opened earlier this month about fresh terms that would see the young midfielder put out of bounds until June 2030.

United insiders insist the serious money will kick in over the lifetime of the new contract, but a deal which to treble his current pay will be sanctioned and signed off at the end of the season.
Mainoo has only recently been promoted to the Red Devils' senior dressing room.
For much of the campaign, the rising star still showered and changed with the Under-21s.
High-profile exits for the likes of Jadon Sancho, Donny van de Beek and Facundo Pellistri helped to open up a spot.

Mainoo was handed his senior Man Utd debut in a cup tie against Charlton in January 2023.
Since recovering from an ankle injury, he has become a regular this season.
The England youth international has now made 22 senior appearances for United.
He was in action yesterday as the Red Devils swept Everton aside 2-0 at OId Trafford.
Bruno Fernandes gave his team a 12th minute lead from the penalty spot following good work by Alejandro Garnacho.
After Garnacho earned a second spot kick later in the first half, Marcus Rashford converted to put his team out of sight.
