After the display seemed to freeze for a short while and show incorrect score, the broadcasters then changed it to an old-fashioned looking one instead.

Fans were confused by the unusual technical error and took to social media to make their thoughts heard.

One wrote: "Scoreboard u okay hun?"

While another added: "People pay for this scoreboard Sky Sports - get a grip!"

And a third posted: "I hope I never see that scoreboard again."

Things at the Oche seemed to be going much better for Littler as the teen sensation booked his spot in the semi-finals for Premier League night six in Brighton.

The 17-year-old managed a brilliant performance against Nathan Aspinall in The Brighton Centre.

Littler got off to a strong start against Aspinall, who he is known to train alongside with the pair playing under the same management.

The youngster won the first leg no problem before keeping his momentum to take the second leg off his mate too.

Aspinall on the other hand looked nervy as he struggled to get anything to fall the right side of the wires with the game ending in a 6-3 victory for Littler.

Unfortunately for Littler that was as far as his success went on the night as he was comfortably beaten by Michael Smith in his semi-final and was on the receiving end of his own 6-3 loss.

The youngster fell into a 3-0 hole after missing his first EIGHT doubles of the match and ending the tie with an average of just 95.27.

Littler tried a late fight back, but was too far behind to secure himself a spot in the Premier League final for the second time this season.

Smith was also beaten in the final where he face Cool Hands Luke Humphries and suffered yet another 6-3 defeat.

World number one Humphries is now sitting pretty in second place in the Premier League standings behind Michael van Gerwen.
