He beat Premier League Darts star Rob Cross in the quarters to break new ground in his career, taking the match by 10 legs to seven.

And fans loved how emotional Evans looked after his breakthrough achievement.

The star roared to the crowd before breaking into open mouthed shock.

He was then seen wiping tears from his eyes as his achievement dawned on him.

He’ll play world champion Luke Humphries in the semis.

Another shock name in the last four is Australian Damon Heta, who stunned Luke Littler 10-8 in an unexpectedly bad tempered game.

Evans took to X to celebrate his victory and wrote: “Wow what a feeling! Full credit to @RobCross180 some nice words from him at the end.

“It wasn’t the best game, but thankfully I got the win, and I’m into the semi-finals! I shall see you all tonight, just off for a J2O!”
