It comes after a spate of break-ins at footballers’ homes, including Sterling’s current £6million property in Surrey which was burgled while he was away on World Cup duty.

Concerned Sterling, whose Chelsea side take on Liverpool in a mouth-watering Carabao Cup final on Sunday, now wants to beef up security at his new house to make sure his family is safe.

A source close to the star told The Sun: “Raheem’s family is everything to him and he can’t ever have a situation where their safety is compromised, it’s his absolute priority to prevent that from ever happening.

“Taking control of the design of the space allows him to integrate the security elements, he’s able to build a safe haven to raise his family.

“The nature of his job means he’s away a lot so he has to be sure his family is safe at home.”

Sterling was forced to jet back from the World Cup in Qatar in December, 2022 after a home raid.

The break-in happened shortly before his terrified fiancée Paige Milian, 27, arrived back at the house with their two children to find their home had been ransacked.

Paige raised the alarm but the burglars made off with jewellery and watches.
