CHELSEA have paid Jose Mourinho and his staff £31.4million after twice axing the Portuguese chief.

The Blues' official accounts revealed the stunning pay-outs the Manchester United boss received from owner Roman Abramovich.

After winning three Premier League titles from 2004-2007, Mourinho was cruelly sacked after falling out with the Russian.

But the Special One had the last laugh as he bagged a whopping £23.1 million for himself and his trusted lieutenants.

Abramovich vowed to never again shell out a huge sum to get rid of a boss but was forced to hand Mourinho another huge sum in 2015.

In his second spell at Stamford Bridge, the tactician brought another title to West London but saw his players turn on him the following season.

And he banked another year's wages as he was fired - adding another £8.3m to the cost.

The likes of Andre Villas-Boas, Carlo Ancelotti have also received bumper pay days from the Blues - the price of an ambitious, trigger-happy owner.

Current chief Antonio Conte is the latest on the merry go round and has guided Chelsea into pole position in the title race.

The Blues are five points clear of Liverpool in second but have been rocked by a 2-0 defeat at Tottenham and top scorer Diego Costa falling out with his manager.
