Evans now resides back in his hometown of Solihull, Birmingham.
How did Evans get into tennis?
The Brit's first introduction to racket sports came at age seven, when he started playing squash with his father at the West Warwickshire Sports Club.
After making the switch to tennis a few years later, a young Evans moved to Edgbaston Priory Tennis Club, where he began training earnestly in his chosen sport.
Evans then spent his early teens at Loughborough University training in the LTA Academy under well-renowned coach Mark Taylor.
During his time at Loughborough, Evans starred in a number of junior international tournaments, first representing Great Britain when he was 14.
What titles has Dan Evans won?
Evans is yet to win an ATP World Tour title, but has the opportunity to do so in Sydney on Saturday.
Facing world No.34 Gilles Muller in the final of the Sydney International, the match will be Evans' first shot at a top-flight title.
The 26-year-old has won five titles on the ATP Challenger Tour - the second tier professional tennis circuit - since 2009.
He is also a Davis Cup champion, having been a member of Great Britain's victorious team in 2015.

The Birmingham resident is allegedly in a long-term relationship with girlfriend Georgina, however the couple keep their relationship largely out of the public eye.
Evans' partner, also from Solihull, works at the local Land Rover plant.
She has been spotted occasionally on tour with Evans and at ATP matches.
What have people said about Dan Evans?
Evans was identified from a young age as one of Britain's brightest prospects to crack the ATP top 100.
Prior to his death early last year, Evans' former coach Julien Hoferlin said there was no limit to how far the Brit could take his game.
"When he’s physically and mentally ready, I don’t see any limit with his game,"
"The only limits will be the ones he makes himself. The game is there but it can’t be maximised if the rest is not ready. It’s up to him."
Formerly known for his somewhat rebellious attitude and 'party-boy' lifestyle, Evans has since channelled more of his focus into perfecting his craft.
According to former coach Mark Taylor, however, the 26-year-old has never been one to let fame get to him.
"He doesn’t take himself too seriously,’ Taylor said.
"He’s not caught up in the whole hype thing of the thing. He’s been able to keep it in perspective."
