Luke Littler lashes out and punches himself in frustration after crashing out of Premier League darts to Gerwyn Price

Price then also crashed out of the tournament

IT was a teenage nightmare instead of a teenage dream for Luke Littler on night three of the Premier League.

The 17-year-old saw his evening in Glasgow come to an early end after he lost to Gerwyn Price in the quarter-final.

Littler could be seen muttering to himself after the loss

Littler - who is often so calm in both victory and defeat - put on an uncharacteristic display of emotion during the match.

He appeared to thump himself as he collected his darts from the board while muttering in anger.

His frustration seem to get the better of him as he missed out on the chance go through to the semi-finals and face Luke Humphries.

Littler's loss is the first time Welshman Price has got the better of him - and he did so in an enthralling match.

Price was greeted with boos from the crowd when he was announced on to the stage, but he gave just as much back to them when he was finding the cork.

And it was the 38-year-old who got the last laugh as he won the match 6-5.

The match went right down to the wire with the pair tied at 5-5 before Price showed his experience by dumping out the teen sensation with a 13-dart hold.

It was a face-off that showed just how good the pair are when they're at the oche.

The Nuke has been on a meteoric rise since the World Championship and his loss to Price prevented him the chance at another rematch against the man who beat him in the final, Humphries.

Price went on to face "Cool Hands Luke" instead, but fell short of booking himself a place in the final with Humphries winning 6-3.

But world number one Humphries couldn't go all the way as he also suffered a narrow 6-5 loss to Michael van Gerwen in the final.

Before the match, Littler gave a balanced view of a possible exit facing Price saying "you can't win them all".

Speaking to Sky Sports, he said: "I've been playing well in the past few days and it's got me up for the Premier League.

"I don't normally practice until the Thursday but I'm confident coming into tonight.

"I've played proper darts Monday to Wednesday and I've enjoyed it. I'm ready for tonight.
