Alvaro Morata subbed off in tears as ex-Chelsea star suffers horror knee injury in Atletico Madrid clash
ATLETICO MADRID star Alvaro Morata was stretchered off in tears after suffering a devastating injury during a crunch clash with Sevilla in LaLiga.
Morata, 31, appeared to have hurt his knee, which led to him hobbling off the pitch in tears at the Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan Stadium.
The ex-Real Madrid star was replaced by Memphis Depay on 46 minutes.
The heartbroken striker was taken straight back to the dressing room in order to undergo medical tests.
The ex-Chelsea star has a long list of injuries, which spanned throughout his time at Juventus, Real Madrid and the Blues.
This major setback poses as a huge blow for Atletico manager Diego Simeone as the Spain international has registered a whopping total of 19 goals and three assists in 32 appearances this season.

And fans were left devastated as they took to social media to wish Morata a speedy recovery.
One fan tweeted: "Quick recovery to Morata."

Sevilla went on to beat Atletico thanks to Isaac Romero's winner after just 15 minutes.
