Karim Benzema ‘storms out of training just hours after returning’ as Ballon d’Or winner’s Al-Ittihad hell continues

Benzema's latest Saudi bust-up comes after he went AWOL in January

KARIM BENZEMA stormed out of training just hours after coming back to Al-Ittihad, according to reports.

The striker cast doubt over his future last month after returning to the club 17 days late from holiday.

He was linked with loan moves to Manchester United and Chelsea but both clubs were unable to afford his wages.

However he is still reported to be unhappy at Al-Ittihad so was lined up with a transfer to a Saudi Arabian club based in Riyadh.

That proposal also fell through so Benzema turned up to training this week as Al-Ittihad prepared to play Al-Tai.

But he lasted only a few hours after being forced to train alone by manager Marcelo Gallardo.

Benzema became angry and refused to do so, before walking out of the session, according to .

The Frenchman was absent from Al-Ittihad's matchday squad as they faced Al-Tai and was left to train with injured players.

Benzema, 36, only joined teh Saudi Arabian champions in the summer on a deal worth £86MILLION per year.

He has scored 15 goals in 24 appearances in all competitions and still has 18 months remaining on his deal.

Al-Ittihad chiefs discussed his future after Benzema went AWOL following his winter holiday.

A source said: "Benzema arrived Thursday evening, 17 days late. He should have returned on January 2.

"We couldn't reach him for 10 days. The club management and the coach are furious with what happened.

"There will be a meeting with the club board to explain what happened and discuss his future."
