Conor McGregor: UFC star ‘doesn’t know’ what the £17 Arabic tattoo he got when he was drunk on holiday – we have the answer
CONOR McGREGOR has gone from being an anonymous UFC fighter to the fight game's biggest star in the last 18 months.
But before he got into MMA - which has lead to Hollywood parties and earning millions - the Irishman was an apprentice plumber in Dublin.
And like many others, McGregor spent his early adult summers going on holiday and getting drunk.
The heavily tattooed star (we have the full lowdown of McGregor's tattoos here) relayed the story of how he got his first tattoo as a 20-year-old in Ayia Napa.
McGregor said at the time: "This was when I was drunk. That was my first.
"It could mean anything. Arabic writing was the thing for a while, it was the cool thing to do.
"I was following the trend back then.
"Maybe one day I’ll get that covered up, I don’t know.
"I got it in Ayia Napa.
"It was like a party kind of… I was young and on holiday. It cost me €20 (£17)."
Well, Conor, luckily SunSport is here to help you.
We have contacted an Arabic source who revealed to us that the Arabic writing says 'Cancer'.
McGregor's birthday happens to be on July 14, right in the time period for the Cancer star sign (June 20 - July 22).
Now McGregor may well be telling the truth and he doesn't know what the writing means - although the cynic in us isn't too keen on coincidences.
