Luke Littler fans baffled as ITV4 coverage bizarrely cuts away to Italian football stadium during Bahrain Masters clash

DARTS fans were left bemused after coverage of the Bahrain Masters cut to a half-empty football stadium in Como.

The PDC event was captivating ITV4 viewers on Friday night as teenage sensation Luke Littler hit a breathtaking nine-darter against Nathan Aspinall.

But the audience were then dumbfounded when the ITV4 broadcast momentarily cut to Como FC's half-empty stadium during Littler's semi-final with Gerwyn Price.

And viewers took to social media to vent their frustrations.

One said: "Um ITV4 can I have the darts back please…"

Another added: "ITV4 cutting to a random picture of a football stadium is very ITV4."

A third replied: "Things I didn’t expect to see, Como FC on ITV4."

While a fourth responded: "Cheers ITV, lovely view of Como's gaff."

And a fifth said: "Yo ITV4, we’re watching darts, not Como FC."

When the coverage swiftly cut back, Littler went on to breeze past 2021 world champion Price to book his spot in the final of the Bahrain Masters.

The Warrington wonderkid, who turns 17 on Sunday, made it two wins from two on Friday night after he dispatched Nathan Aspinall 6-3 in their quarter-final.

Littler, who received a supportive message from girlfriend Eloise on Thursday, is seeking his first PDC darts title.

He finished runner-up in the World Darts Championship at Alexandra Palace earlier this month following a fairytale run.

The young prodigy came up short in the final following a fairytale run in the capital, losing 7-4 to Luke Humphries in front of a record audience.
