Jose Mourinho’s coach ‘almost in tears’ as details of brutal Roma sacking emerge
JOSE MOURINHO'S sacking at AC Roma came as such a shock to players and staff it almost made then cry.
The brutal axe nearly sent his former assistant coach into "tears" after hearing the news on Tuesday morning.
Mourinho has been thrown out the exit door by the Serie A side after a two-and-a-half year stint in charge at the Stadio Olimpico.
And just an hour after the statement was released Mourinho's right-hand man Salvatore Foti was said to be "nearly in tears" when he arrived at the club's training ground in Trigoria.
Foti was hired as the Portuguese boss's assistant in January 2022 after the exit of Joao Sacramento.
The 60-year-old former Chelsea and Man Utd boss's turbulent spell in Rome has been marred by ill-discipline on the touchline.

He received six red cards in the last two seasons - more than any player in Serie A.
This saw Foti on more than one occasion fill in for him in the dugout.
One of Foti's most impressive victories was a 1–0 win at the Stadio Olimpico against Juventus in March last year.
Roma's American owners, Dan and Ryan Friedkin, were said to be "highly unhappy" with results under Mourinho this campaign, according to a report by Calciomercato via .

Mourinho struggled in Serie A, finishing sixth twice in his two full seasons in charge.
And he has now faced his sixth sacking of his career, with Roma currently ninth in the table.
Roma legend Daniele De Rossi is now set to take over.
De Rossi will take charge until June, with his contract including an option to renew based on achievements and results.
