SCRAPPY NEW YEAR

Police called out as Stuart Hogg involved in huge bust-up with his family at bro’s house

The drama came after the family had enjoyed a day at the races

EX-Scotland skipper Stuart Hogg was caught up in a New Year’s Day bust-up at his brother’s house - with cops called to the scene.

The rugby hero - awarded an MBE last month - had earlier enjoyed a day at the races with sibling Graham, their partners and parents.

But it’s believed things turned sour back at Graham’s home in Hawick, Roxburghshire, and officers arrived at around 9pm.

A source said: “It all got a bit messy.”

Hogg had started the year off in style, whisking his new love Leonna Mayor and relatives off to Musselburgh Races.

The group were all smiles as they cosied up for a happy snap on their family outing.

But the boozy affair ended in tears after an argument later erupted among the group back at bro Graham’s house - leading to cops being alerted.

Sources say Stuart then left the home - leaving Leonna, 32, behind.

Officers attended Graham’s home in Hawick, Roxburghshire, at 9pm last Monday but no further action was taken.

Both brothers removed any trace of the New Year’s day out from their Instagram accounts - despite earlier posting images.

Stuart deleted his account in the hours after while Graham set his to private.

The bust-up came just a fortnight after Hogg was awarded an MBE for services to rugby.

A source said: “What started as a family day out at the races ended with the police being called. It was all very messy.

“Subsequently Stuart deleted Instagram - just hours after he posted a loved-up snap of him and Leonna dressed up to the nines, about to set off for the races.

“His brother Graham also deleted the Musselburgh pictures and set his account to private.

“It’s such a shame after he ended the year on a high with his MBE award.”

A Police Scotland spokesman said: “Around 9pm on Monday, 1 January, 2024, police were called to a report of a disturbance at a property in Heronhill Bank, Hawick. Officers attended and no criminality was established.”

We told how Hogg was dubbed a “scrumbag” for flaunting his new lover as his wife revealed he had become a dad again.

And we revealed how Hogg, of Hawick, had been dating TV horse-racing presenter Leonna Mayor.

Hogg later insisted his marriage had ended “some time before” wife Gillian, 36, gave birth to his fourth child in November.
