World Darts Championship: Trophy ‘invasion’ conducted by YouTube pranksters Trollstation – who ran on to the pitch at White Hart Lane two years ago

THE man who run on stage and stole the trophy at the final of the World Darts Championship was part of a notorious YouTube prank channel.
Lee Marshall, known as Disco Boy, evaded security to lift the trophy before Michael van Gerwen beat Gary Anderson to win his second world title.
Marshall was able to lift the Sid Waddell Trophy from its plinth before being grabbed by security and rushed off stage.
After the event, Trollstation put out a video which showed they were behind the stunt.
The team have been involved in several high profile incidents before.
Memorably they disrupted a Europa League match at White Hart Lane between Tottenham and Partizan Belgrade in November 2014.
Three separate times they were able to get on to the pitch - Spurs were disciplined by Uefa and at one point the referee took the players off the pitch for ten minutes.
Four members of the group were jailed in May 2016 after staging a fake heist at the National Portrait Gallery.
The quartet were sentenced to a combined 72 weeks behind bars for "using threatening or abusive words" and "causing fear of unlawful violence".
Dutchman Van Gerwen won his second world title by defeating reigning champion Gary Anderson 7-3 at Ally Pally.
After the match, Van Gerwen said: "That was a bit sad – you always get people like that who try to be funny.
"He's not allowed to do that and he probably won't see another darts match in his life.
“I have fought so hard for this and now I have a full set of the major trophies, but this is the one that matters most of all.”
