The 16-year-old had to make do with a burger, but we made sure he got his kebab today.

Luke, who reckons he can go all the way to the final, explained: “I got the crowd going by shouting, ‘Do you wanna see me get a kebab?’.

“But in the end after I left the arena, I went for a McDonald’s instead.”

He also celebrated his first round victory with a kebab and Coke.

Luke, nicknamed The Nuke, beat Canada’s Matt Campbell in the third round of the PDC World Darts Championship on Wednesday night, pocketing at least £35,000.

And he could be on for a £50,000 payday if he wins his fourth round match tomorrow against either the Welshman Jim Williams or his hero — the Dutch former world champion Raymond van Barneveld.

Luke, from Warrington, is now just 7-1 to win the title, down from 150-1 before the tournament started.

He said: “It would be unbelievable to win. I want to take it all the way now.

“It feels amazing to have the crowd behind you. It gives me an extra boost knowing I have 3,500 of them on my side.

“It’s inspiring. Just unbelievable to hear that many people chanting.

“It’s a crazy feeling. They have chanted, ‘He’s got school in the morning’. It’s unbelievable, it really helps me and cheers me on.”

Luke’s mum Lisa, who works in a candle shop, was in the crowd for his latest win.

He said: “I started crying when I saw my mum. She was nervous. I said to her, ‘The dream continues’. She said the same thing.”

Man United fan Luke got a new Xbox controller for Christmas, but added of his potential winnings: “I haven’t thought about spending the money yet, I haven’t thought about losing. I don’t want to lose.”

Luke, who walks out to Greenlight by US rapper Pitbull, revealed he gees himself up before matches by listening to Flo Rida tunes.

Meanwhile, footage has emerged online of Luke playing darts aged just 18 months.

He says he was first inspired to take up the sport by his taxi driver dad Anthony.

Luke added: “My whole family are into darts. It’s only my dad and me who play.

“He wasn’t a pub player, he just had a throw-about in the house.”
