LUKE LITTLER has been the standout star at this year's World Darts Championship - and he will hoping for a fairytale ending to his remarkable story.

The 16-year-old caught the eye after his performance on his tournament debut, beating Dutchman Christian Kist in the opening round at Ally Pally.

Littler sailed through, winning 3-0 on sets against an experienced pro who boasts a world ranking of 91st.

Since then, Luke has wowed darts fans by beating Open champion Andrew Gilding before continuing his dream with a triumph over Matt Campbell.

In the last-16, Littler pulled off the biggest win of his career so far, beating five-time world champion Raymond van Barneveld 4-1.

He then skipped past Brendan Dolan 5-1 in the final eight to reach the semi-finals.

In the last-4, Littler continued his remarkable run by destroying 2018 champion Rob Cross 6-2 and becoming the youngest-ever player to compete in the World Darts Championship final.

Luke Littler will face World No.1 Luke Humphries in the final of the World Darts Championship.

The match is scheduled to take place on Wednesday, January 3rd, 2024 at Alexandra Palace.

The 16-year-old's huge finale is expected to begin at approximately 8.15pm GMT.

What did Luke Littler say after his World Darts Championship debut?

Littler was buzzing after his quarter-final win, saying: “It’ll take a lot to beat me, based on my past performances in these Worlds.

“I know I have got the ability to go all the way.

“I know I have a good chance, I know in myself I have got a good feeling that I can go all the way now. It’s whatever Luke Littler turns up.

“If I keep it up, I have a good chance. I’m only two games away. I’m definitely thinking about the title.

“This is the first time I have thought about it. It’s unbelievable.

“Rob is another person in the way. Obviously he won it on his debut – now I have my hopes of winning on my debut as well.

“This is unbelievable. I’ve felt confident ever since the opening game with Christian Kist."
