OL OVER

Former BT Sport host Jake Humphrey ‘completely mugged off’ live on radio by Jamie Oliver with brutal two-word snub

FORMER BT SPORT host Jake Humphrey was “completely mugged off” live on the radio by Jamie Oliver.

The celebrity chef, 48, cooked up a brutal one liner as he joined Chris Moyles on Radio X.

The whole bizarre incident began when Humphrey himself appeared on the former I’m A Celeb star’s hit morning show.

While there, Moyles’ co-host Dominic Byrne let slip that the next guest coming on to the programme would be Oliver.

That sparked Humphrey’s interest, and he soon revealed that he had not had Oliver on his podcast yet - although it was not for a lack of trying.

He then effectively admitted that he had been blanked by the cook.

The ex-Champions League host said: “Is he your next guest? Oh my goodness, I've like literally reached out to Jamie Oliver about 50 times.”

That led to Moyles offering to let Humphrey record a message for Oliver “in case they don’t bump into each other” while he left the studio.

Humphreys did not need to be asked twice and said: “Jamie Oliver, please can you come on the High Performance podcast and please can you get Chris to get you to say yes or no live on the radio so therefore it's contractually binding. We don't pay a fee, thanks.”

Later in the show, once Oliver was in the studio, Moyles kept his promise by saying: “So, let's do some questions. The first one comes from a man called Jake Humphrey.”

Oliver, seemingly oblivious that it was the ex-BBC Formula One presenter, replied: “Hi Jake!”

The recording was then played to him as he sat with an amused looked on his face before he laughed and brutally replied: “Absolutely not.”

And after the clip was shared on social media, it did not take fans long to rub more salt in Humphreys’ wounds.

“Jamie Oliver completely mugging off Jake Humphrey is the feel good content I didn’t know I needed,” declared one.

Another wrote: “Not a fan of Oliver but he's just topped out there. Good lad.”

A fellow fan joked: “It almost makes me forgive him for ruining school dinners.”

While a fourth added: “Never thought I'd say this but Jamie Oliver has gone up in my estimations.”

Humphrey recently revealed that he quit BT Sport for his family and he launched an attack on social media abuse as he recalled being bullied as a child.

Speaking about being trolled online, he said: “I think you would be a sociopath or something if it didn’t get through the armour sometimes.

“I’ve always thought that if you just let this stuff go you are as complicit as anybody.

“The only place that reaction happens is on Twitter. No one has ever stopped me in the street and said it... I just feel exactly like I felt when I got bullied at school.”

The former children's game show presenter then relived some of the abuse he got at secondary school, saying: “When we drop the kids off, I still get the feeling in the pit of my stomach when I see them walking off with the bag over their shoulder.

“It still triggers me to this day... God, the feeling of having to do that day after day after day, knowing what awaited.

"There were these two buses in the school car park and I’d go and sit in there on my own and just have my lunch."
