Man Utd goalkeeper target ‘may refuse to sign new contract amid rumours of January transfer to replace Andre Onana’
MANCHESTER UNITED could reportedly make a swoop for AC Milan’s Mike Maignan amid rumours the goalkeeper is set to reject a new contract.
The Red Devils forked out £47m last summer to bring Andre Onana to Old Trafford from Inter Milan to be their new No.1.
However, the Cameroon stopper has made a number of high-profile errors, including his Champions League nightmare at Galatasaray last week.
That has led to reports that boss Erik ten Hag is searching for a new goalie to come in, with Maignan one of those believed to be on his shortlist.
Now that speculation has been fuelled once again following a fresh update on his situation by .
The 28-year-old France international penned a five-year contract with Milan upon his arrival from Lille in 2021.

But they have been in talks over extending his deal, however, they have stalled over his wage demands.
Maignan and his representatives want a new salary worth around £6.85m-a-year, a figure Milan say they are unable to afford.
Now they could decide to cash in if a decent offer arrives for him once the January transfer window opens with the keeper set to snub the club's latest offer.
United are not the only European heavyweight that have been linked with the star.

Bayern Munich are believed to be keen on making him the long-term replacement for the legendary Manuel Neuer.
Chelsea also enquired about his availability during the summer, but they were put off at the time by Milan’s asking price.
But the Blues are also still said to be keen on the ace.
Despite the contract stand-off, Maignan has appeared in 16 matches in all competitions this term, keeping seven clean sheets.
