CHELSEA are preparing to launch a bid for former Manchester United striker Javier Hernandez.
Hernandez, who has become one of the leading goalscorers in the Bundesliga with Bayern Leverkusen, has been linked with numerous returns to the Premier League but could finally make a comeback under Antonio Conte.
But the Blues will be forced to splash out £34million to bring the striker to Stamford Bridge in January, according to German publication Bild.
The 28-year old Mexican has netted 22 times in 43 German top-flight appearances and is attracting plenty of admiration from the Premier League.
Both Tottenham and Liverpool have already been linked with an approach for Hernandez but Chelsea are now thought to be leading the chase.
