Bookies slash odds of a Frankie Dettori early exit from I’m A Celeb jungle
FRANKIE DETTORI is used to getting off to a flying start on the racetrack.
He hasn't quite been able to replicate that in the jungle on I'm A Celeb, however.
The world's most famous jockey retired from British racing in October but is continuing his career in sunny California for the foreseeable.
Before settling into his new digs, Dettori headed to Australia for I'm A Celeb last week, joining the likes of firebrand politician Nigel Farage and former boxer Tony Bellew.
The bookies fear of Dettori carried over from the racetrack to the jungle, offering odds of just 5-1 for the Italian to win I'm A Celeb.
Anyone who took skinny odds will be grimacing, however, as his odds have skyrocketed following his first few days in the jungle.
Coral's Lewis Knowles said: "There are some really big personalities in the jungle this year, and Frankie has struggled to really establish himself in the competition so far.
"He’s been quite happy to take a back seat and go about his business quietly, but as a result, he’s now 33-1 to win the show outright, and 5-1 to be the first celebrity eliminated."
Coral have TV personality Josie Gibson as the 11-10 favourite to win, with Sam Thompson at 5-2 and Fred Sirieix at 7-1.
Nigel Farage can be backed at 10-1, while Tony Bellew remains a 12-1 shot.
Dettori is no stranger to reality TV, having competed in the Celebrity Big Brother in 2013, following his exit from racing powerhouse Godolphin after a failed drugs test.
He could only finish seventh among the housemates after being nominated for eviction three times.
