England international Tyrone Mings gives injury update after cryptic post left fans fearing he was going to retire
ENGLAND star Tyrone Mings has given fans an update following his severe knee injury.
The Aston Villa defender suffered a ruptured ACL during the club's first game of the Premier League season against Newcastle back in August.
Mings was stretched off in pain with his leg in a brace and he is set to miss the rest of the campaign.
In a cryptic post, the 30-year-old revealed he would give supporters further information later today.
He posted a picture of himself sat with his head down as he wrote: "Grateful for all your support. I'll share an update with you all later today."
It led to much speculation and some fans were fearing that he might retire.

One said: "If the update from Mings isn’t a positive update and he informs us of the one thing we are dreading it will genuinely ruin my whole year. I FEEL SICK."
More were left on tenterhooks, adding: "Mings' story is worrying me."
A third commented: "You bet I'll be a nervous wreck waiting for Mings to share his injury update with us later today. Just hope it’s a positive update. We’re all behind him."
But it turns out Mings is doing fine, posting a video showing his recovery from a hospital bed to working hard in the gym as he thanked supporters for the many people that have reached out to him.
He captioned it: "I know you didn’t think you were getting rid of me that easy. This one is a thank you for all your messages."
The Aston Villa centre-back has deleted all other posts from his social media page, besides his upload about sustaining his injury versus Newcastle.
Mings is a fans' favourite at Villa Park, who has captained the team several times.
He has played 166 times for the club and he has been capped 18 times by England.
Meanwhile, Villa also could be without Emi Buendia after he suffered knee ligament damage.
